Zheng Apai is the vice president of the Guangdong Art Institute and vice chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association. He thinks for those who paint flowers and birds, art may be something they "borrow" from nature. He has thus described the importance of drawing from nature, which he has learned from the tradition of Lingnan painting and his own experience.And he believes that it is necessary to stop and walk into nature and life to draw lessons and solve problems.

郑阿湃，现任广东画院副院长，广东省美术家协会副主席。对于花鸟画家而言，艺术可能是他们向大自然所“借”之物。郑阿湃强调写生的重要性，这不仅仅来自岭南画学的传统，更是其切身体会。在他看来，画事天天重复就会心生厌烦，这个时候就需要停下来，走进大自然，走进生活里，“在写生中带着问题，解决问题”。
