Li Kan, Zhao Mengfu, and Gao Kegong are known as the "Three Great Masters of Bamboo Painting in the early Yuan Dynasty". However, only a dozen of Li’s works have been handed down. Li's "Bending Bamboo" has been on display at the Special Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy from the Song and Yuan dynasties in the Guangdong Museum. Connoisseurs of painting appreciate it as one of the rare and exquisite masterpieces in the realm of bamboo painting. Lin Lan, the director of Guangdong Painting Academy, deciphered the painting from the perspective of the creator of contemporary flower and bird painting.
