On August 20, the first registration day for the first batch of freshmenof the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), the campus was abuzz with activity. Students were able to complete the whole registration process in a short period of time, enjoying the air conditioning of the new dormitory and thedelicious food in the dining hall. It is reported that the new students who arrived early on the 18th also enjoyed an "extra benefit" during the welcome ceremony —an individual photo with the principal Ni Mingxuan.
