On July 19, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment informed that in the first half of 2022, Guangdong Province's air quality index compliance rate was 95.2%, an increase of 1.2 percentage points year-on-year. Also, 13 prefecture-level cities in the province have improved their AQI compliance rate year-on-year, with Guangzhou becoming the city with the largest increase. As for water environmental quality, among 149 surface water national examination sections in Guangdong Province, the excellent water quality rate was 89.9 percent, an increase of 4.1 percentage points.
