A large wading bird with a white head and orange beak was captured by bird watchers in Maoming recently. By expert identification, this is a Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala), a national key protected wild bird. At present, the global population of Painted Storks is 16,000-24,000, mainly distributed from the South Asian subcontinent to Southeast Asia's mainland. For a period of time, photography enthusiasts came one after another to track and record this rare bird.
