Many enterprises in Guangdong province have actively taken targeted measures to ensure smooth transportation and sufficient supply of living materials for residents of their neighboring region of Hong Kong since it was hit by the fifth wave of COVID-19 in early January.

Fresh food suppliers in Guangdong, among other companies, have supplied more than 53,000 live hogs and over 60,000 kg of frozen meat to Hong Kong, with the live hog supply per day reaching 2,265 at its peak, almost doubling the normal supply. Water transportation companies in Guangdong have spared no effort to guarantee safe and unimpeded public transportation and logistics services provided via sea lanes,madean emergency purchase of 25,000 medical face masks to distribute to Hong Kong citizens, and arranged for dedicated personnel to provide help for families facing special difficulties.
