Chaoshan architecture, represented by folk houses and ancestral halls, integrates the traditional handicrafts of Chaoshan and contains a variety of architectural forms. It has unique architectural characteristics and aesthetic value, and is an important part of Chaoshan culture. Chen Cihong’s former residence, located in Shantou, is a traditional Chaoshan residence, which is the largest Chinese residence in the Lingnan area, and is also known as the “Small Palace Museum in Chaoshan”.
潮汕建筑以民居和宗祠为代表，与木雕、彩绘等潮汕民间传统工艺相融合，包含多种建筑形式，具有独特建筑特色和美学价值，是潮汕文化的重要组成部分。位于汕头市的陈慈黉故居便是典型的潮汕传统民居，是岭南地区规模最大的侨宅，有着“潮汕小故宫”的美称。
