Anniversary concert celebrates the 50 years diplomatic relations between China and Belgium
On October 25, the anniversary concert on the occasion of 50 years diplomatic relations between China and Belgium was held in Guangzhou. This concert was jointly held by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and the Consulate General of Belgium in Guangzhou.

This concert invited Guangdong Music & Folk Art Troupe and Renaat Beheydt, who received a rich musical education in Belgium to perform together. The performance program includes classic Guangdong music such as Autumn Moon Over the Calm Lake, Birds Returning to the Woods and classic piano pieces such as Third Fantasy, Prelude Fugue et Variation.
It is known that Guangdong Music & Folk Art Troupe is a professional group specializing in the creation and performance of Guangdong music and folk art. Established in 1958, the Troupe has won many honors and awards in various music and folk artcompetitions from local levels to national levels. Renaat Beheydt’s career as a performing pianist has brought him from Belgium to most European countries and to America and Asia. Their rich performance experience together brought the audience this unforgettable concert.

On 25 October 1971, the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Belgium established diplomatic relations. 2021 is therefore a special year in which we can look back on 50 years of common experience and also look forward to new opportunities for future cooperation between ourcountries. For 50 years,China and Belgium ties have been characterized by regular contacts at the highest political level, by the warm friendship between our respective inhabitants, by increasing investments, growing trade and close cooperation on a multilateral level.
