Zhan Bohui, Guangdong’s outstanding social scientist, famous linguist, and professor of the Chinese Department of JNU, has devoted himself to the linguistic research. Over the past ten years, not only has he consistently promoted Mandarin, but also he and his team have conducted in-depth investigations into dialects such as Min, Canton, Hakka, etc., so that the neglected Cantonese dialect research could become more and more popular. Zhan Bohui, being at his old age, is still working hard on the front line of academic research to contribute to Chaozhou’s cultural construction.
广东省首届优秀社会科学家、著名语言学家、暨大中文系教授詹伯慧长期扎根学术研究。数十年来，他一以贯之推广普通话，同时，他和团队深入调查闽、粤、客等方言，使过去长期无人问津的广东方言研究“荒地”越来越少。已至耄耋之年的詹伯慧，现仍奋战在学术研究一线，为潮州文化建设发挥余光余热。
