Foshan is known as the “City of Museums” because more than 200 museums and galleries are located in Foshan. The Foshan private museum has become an important force when it comes to promoting the popularization of art. Among them, the New Shi Wan Art Museum, which highlights the local culture of Lingnan, currently has a collection of up to 800 Shiwan ceramic works. Fan Shaohui, the founder of the museum, said that it was his original aspiration and development direction to operate private art museums in a public way and spread the excellent Lingnan culture.
由于200多家博物馆及美术馆分布在佛山，佛山被称为“博物馆之城”。佛山民营博物馆更是成为推动艺术普及化的一股重要力量。其中，以凸显岭南本土文化为特色的新石湾美术馆，目前馆藏石湾陶艺作品数量多达800件。其创办人范绍辉表示，以公益性的方式去运营民营美术馆，传播优秀岭南文化，是他一直践行的初心和发展方向。
