Guangzhou has been constructing some new metro lines to establish a more efficient and convenient city transport network. Here are the new progressesmadeby the end of July.

Progress of 11 new lines

1. Initiative section of Line 18 (Wanqingsha-Xiancun) (万顷沙-冼村):

97% completion. 7 stations including Wanqingsha (万顷沙) are in the equipment installation period while the construction of Hengli (横沥) Station, Longzhen (陇枕) parking lot and the whole track system are completed.

Estimated open time: September 28, 2021

2. Initiative section of Line 22 (Panyu Square-Chentougang) (番禺广场-陈头岗):

94% completion. 3 stations are in the equipment installation period while 8 have been finished.

Estimated open time: 2021

3. West extension of Line 7 (Guangzhou South Railway Station-Midea Avenue) (广州南-美的大道):

92% completion. All 8 stations have been finished.

Estimated open time: within 2021

4. Line 11 (Guangzhou Railway Station-Pazhou-Guangzhou Railway Station) (火车站-琶洲-火车站):

61% completion. Of the 32 stations, 2 have been opened, 8 have been finished, 21 are under construction, and 1 is in preparation.

Estimated open time: the end of 2023

5. Phase II of Line 7 (Higher Education Mega Center S.-Shuixibei) (大学城南-水西北):

46% completion. 1 station has been finished and the other 10 under construction.

Estimated open time: 2022

6. East extension of Line 3 (Panyu Square-Haibang) (番禺广场-海傍):

39% completion. Of the 4 stations, 2 have been finished and the other 2 are still under construction.

Estimated open time: 2024

7. Phase II of Line 13 (Chaoyang-Yuzhu) (朝阳-鱼珠):

34% completion. Of the 23 stations, 3 have been finished, 18 are under construction, and 2 are in preparation. The Yuzhu (鱼珠) and Huanggang (凰岗) parking lots are in progress.

8. East extension of Line 5 (Wenchong-Huangpu Passenger Port) (文冲-黄埔客运港):

32% completion. All 6 stations are under construction.

Estimated open time: 2022

9. Line 12 (Xunfenggang- Higher Education Mega Center S.) (浔峰岗-大学城南):

27% completion. Of the 25 stations, 3 have been finished and 16 are under construction, while 6 are undertaken by other lines.

Estimated open time: 2024

10. Line 10 (Xilang-Shipaiqiao) (西塱-石牌桥):

26% completion. Of the 14 stations, 1 has been finished, 12 are under construction and 1 is in preparation.

Estimated open time: 2023

11. Phase II of Line 14 (Jiahewanggang-Guangzhou Railway Station) (嘉禾望岗-广州火车站):

21% completion. Of the 8 stations, 1 has been finished, 5 are under construction and 2 are in preparation.

Estimated open time: the end of 2022
