It could be another Silicon Valley. “When sharing about the insights on the Greater Bay Area (GBA) at an interview with GDToday, Wang Huiyao, President of CCG and Counselor for China State Council, highlighted the importance of the GBA in stimulating the regional and global development.

Martin Mueller, Chairman of Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, has been living in Dongguan, Guangdong for 8 years. “I saw that the GBA has huge potential, especially for my private business, which is architectural designs. And construction level in the Greater Bay Area is quite high, which suits very much”. He also added that the government in the GBA always sets priorities based on sustainable development and listens to the needs of foreign companies.

Meanwhile, according to many foreigners who want to explore trade relationship with China, they find GBA can help facilitate their business. “A lot of Brazilians like to come to China for business. And doing business in Guangdong is more practical and easier, especially Hong Kong is very attractive.” Said Renato Peneluppi, a Brazilian entrepreneur who has been in China for 11 years.

Businessmen and scholars from different countries are also optimistic about the future of GBA, after seeing its energy, quality of education, technological innovation and infrastructural connectivity. According to Philip Kisray, SVP & General Manger of Wiley, all the factors above make up the “business ecosystem” that could “drive real, tangible outcomes from basic research, to conceptualization, to the development of ideas, to actually investing entrepreneurship, start-ups, and manufacturing,” he said, “that microcosm is, in my world, very present in the bay area.”
