Falling on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, the Qixi Festival, renowned as the Chinese Valentine’s day, is a romantic festival in ancient China. The day, which is based on a romantic tale, is also related to young girls “praying for nimble fingers” or Qiqiao (intelligence). This year, various activities, such as the worship ceremony to pay tribute to the Weaver Girl and a fashion show, will take place at Zhu Village, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, which is not only just to celebrate love but to show people’s awe for the beauty of nature and to ask for wisdom and fortune.
