Chinese block print has a long history, which can be traced back to the Tang dynasty. The block print art works of the famous artist, Lai Shaoqi, were exhibited in Guangdong Museum of Art. From his works, we can see the different sources of art from the style of Kathe Kollwitz, Picasso and Munch to the elements of Chinese traditional folk art. Although his technique was immature at that time, the feeling his work gave us was sincere and full of passion, which reflected the mental footprints of the progressive Chinese youth in the 1930s.
中国版画历史悠久，可追溯至唐朝时期。著名的版画艺术家赖少其早期的版画作品最近在广州艺术博物院展出，他的作品中既有珂勒惠支、毕加索、蒙克的影子，同时也有不少中国传统民间艺术元素。虽然技法质朴稚拙，但感情强烈真挚，正是20世纪30年代很多中国进步青年的精神写照。
