The Guangdong police have also detected a large number of cases such as online gambling crimes through online games, settlement of online chess and cards through WeChat and transfer of funds. At the same time, they also cracked down on illegal network technology support platforms, payment platforms, and underground banks, etc., as they contain cross-border gambling effectively.

In June 2020, the Zhongshan police discovered that a live streaming app was suspected of providing online gambling performances. The live APP server is registered overseas and provides hundreds of gambling game redirect links on multiple overseas gambling platforms.

The police found that the gambling studio attracted audiences through online obscene performances by female anchors, and provided services such as real-time analysis of gambling games, lottery results, and betting predictions.

At the same time, "paid posters" would pretend to be gamblers to create a gambling atmosphere and induce residents to gamble. There are more than 90 live broadcast rooms on the APP, and the number of registrations on the platform exceeded 100,000. After that, the Zhongshan police went to 16 provinces, arrested 60 suspects, froze 241 bank accounts, and eliminated this huge cross-border gambling criminal gang that was a confluence of pornography and gambling.

Furthermore, the Guangdong police have also jointly launched a series of measures with border management, finance, and communications departments to effectively combat cross-border gambling crimes through measures such as financial account supervision, border control, and clearing of information related to gambling networks.

The Guangdong police reminded residents that they should recognize the dangers of cross-border gambling activities and consciously resist the temptation.
