A 3.7 earthquake struck Heyuan, Guangdong

At 5:40 on April 2, a 3.7 earthquake struck Dongyuan County, Heyuan, Guangdong with a 10 kilometers depth of focus. At 6:05 and 7:15 in the morning, M1.7 and M1.2 earthquakes have hit Dongyuan again.

According to records, there have been 9 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or higher near Heyuan in the recent 5 years. The largest earthquakes were this time and a 3.7 earthquake that occurred in Xingning City, Meizhou, Guangdong on January 20, 2020.

The epicenter was 24 kilometers from Yuancheng District of Heyuan, 26 kilometers from Dongyuan County, 28 kilometers from Longmen County, 24 kilometers from Heyuan City, and 149 kilometers from Guangzhou City. Some netizens in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanwei said that they also felt the earthquake.

This earthquake is not serious earthquake, with a magnitude greater than or equal to 3 and less than or equal to 4.5. It means that people can feel it but it will not cause damage.
