Guangzhou Airport CBD is to rise in GBA

Recently, the Construction of Guangzhou Airport Central Business District Project with the Strategic Cooperation Agreement Signing Event was officially held. It will become a pioneering demonstration area for high-quality airport economic development.

As is reported, with a total investment of about 18 billion yuan, the Guangzhou Airport CBD will be built into a landmark airport complex in the Guangdong- Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA for short) with integrative services provided for conferences, exhibitions, businesses, hotels, cultural tourist industry and headquarters offices.

This project, by adopting the mode of "government-led but enterprise-initiated operation" and focusing on the integration of "exhibitions and urban development", is to prioritize the construction of a complex for convention, exhibition and trade with other supportive commercial facilities, on in special purpose for aircraft display.

It covers a construction area of about 1.5 million square meters with the conference-exhibition-and-trading complex taking up 250 thousand square meters.

Located in the core area of Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone, to the south side of Baiyun International Airport (BIA for short), adjacent to the business aviation service base of BIA, about 1 kilometer away from Terminal 3 and close to the intersection of Guangzhou Metro Line 3 and Line 9, the project boasts distinctive geographical advantages.

To build an industrial cluster with a trillion-billion US dollars.

The launch of this project by Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone is to give impetus to the national high-quality airport economic development and serves as an essential part for a new national "dual circulation" pattern development.

This area will pioneer in bringing along the flow of people, goods, capital and information so as to draw investors to build a batch of industrial clusters with a trillion-billion US dollars.

At present, Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone has already developed into a diversified development pattern supported by six major airport industries including aircraft maintenance and manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce, aviation logistics, aviation headquarters business, general aviation and aircraft leasing with an integration of digital economy and biological medicine innovation.

In 2020, the total import and export value of the Comprehensive Bonded Area in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport reached 22.4 billion yuan, up 29.1% against the trend, and cross-border-e-commerce business value has been in the first place in China’s airports for seven consecutive year; and air cargo value reached a new record of $ 28,093 billion, up 21%.

In the future, Guangzhou airport CBD is to be built into an international hub port and a new-height area of Guangzhou international trade and communication through integration of urban production and life, and continuous efforts will bemadeto develop it into a highly open and immensely powerful engine in GBA.
