Hutoupo Village in Leizhou Peninsula, the southernmost end of Chinese mainland, enjoys sufficient sunshine all year round. In one of its poverty-relief vegetable bases paired with a Cantonese cuisine master, Han Nanfa from a low-income family grows bitter gourds, which will be sent to Cantonese Cuisine Master Gao Fei's studio, andmadeinto a tasty dish: Stuffed Bitter Gourd with Dried Tangerine Peel.
The delicacy is the result of Gao Fei's high requirements for food ingredients. Gao said, "We set up the Cantonese Cuisine Master's Studio here because it is close to cultivation and planting bases. It is more convenient for transportation, acceptance check, research and development of vegetables."
Since Hutoupo has cooperated with Cantonese Cuisine Master's Studio, the villagers' per capita income and industrial dividend has been seen to increase, and Han Nanfa's family has also been lifted out of poverty.
