With less than a month until the Spring Festival, Guangzhou officials have planned an abundance of events to greet the biggest annual celebration in China. People always can enjoy the regular annual activities like the traditional Spring Festival flower fairs in various districts of the city, the Yuexiu Lantern Festival, the Yuexiu Temple Fair, and the Lichee Bay Water Flower Market. This year Guangzhou residents also will have access to other special themed activities. If you choose to spend this Spring Festival in the city, then one of the following spots may make a good option for you.
1. Spring Festival Float Parade
Outside the Tianhe Sports Center, a float parade will make its debut in Guangzhou during the holiday. The floats will primarily be furnished with seasonal flowers, vividly displaying Guangzhou as a flower city and serving visitors a rich visual feast. An exhibition of floats will also be held at the Tianhe Sports Center.
Duration: February 17 to 19, every afternoon
2. Huacheng Square Light Concert
An auspicious tree, a flower terrace, a tree of lights and a "post office of peach blossom forest" will shine in the southern sector of Huacheng Square. Embellished by night scenes along the city's new central axis, this major music show is expected to render residents a spectacular festive atmosphere.
Duration: February 13 to March 2, every evening
3. Haixinsha Fashion Flower Fair
Decorated with flower petal floors, hanging ceilings and display boards, the Haixinsha Fashion Flower Fair is divided into five themed areas, including science and technology, leisure, tea art, floriculture and books. This flower fair will expose visitors to a leisure space that combines the elements of urbanism and the Spring Festival.

4. Yuntai Garden Topiary Flower Exhibition
Yuntai Garden is known as a good place for appreciating flowers during all four seasons. This Spring Festival, the garden will launch a large-scale topiary flower exhibition. Combined with the current landscape of Yuntai Garden and various flowers and plants, the exhibition will display 12 three-dimensional flower terraces of Cantonese characteristics and three topiary works adorned with traditional festive lanterns.
